The Oxford School Disctrict settled a case with parents of a child with special needs for $85,000

The settlement in federal court came after the decsion of a school hearing officer, awarding $60,000 to the parents, was appealed by the district to federal court. The parents had filed a counter claim in federal court for thier attornies fees.

The U.S. Supreme Court has unanimously upheld a D.C. Circuit ruling in U.S. v. Jones, No. 10-10259 to suppress evidence in a drug conspiracy case because the police failed to have a valid warrant before installing a GPS device on the defendant’s vehicle
